Arrival at Julius Nyerere International Airport
When you arrive at Dar es Salaam’s Julius Nyerere International Airport, you will be met by a member of our Summit Heroes Expedition and be driven to your booked hotel in Dar es Salaam for dinner and overnight. Enjoy the pleasant weather in Dar es Salaam, relax, and spend the remainder of your day as you wish.
Dar es salaam to Nyerere National Park
After a delicious breakfast in your hotel, your guide will pick you up and transport you to Nyerere National Park with your packed lunch boxes. The route follows the Great Southern Highway until it reaches Kibiti Town, where it turns left and enters Nyerere. When you arrive at Nyerere National Park, you will take a picnic lunch and rest while admiring the park’s breathtaking views.
After lunch and a short rest, you’ll go on an afternoon game drive, where you might see elephants, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, hyenas, lions, jackals, and other animals. Later that evening, your guide will transport you to a Nyerere lodge for a delicious dinner and overnight stay.
Nyerere National Park
After breakfast in your lodge, your guide will pick you up and take you on a game drive through this remote and unspoiled wildlife area, where you can see wild dogs, buffalo, African elephants, giraffes, wildebeest, lions, hyenas, and the elusive leopard, which sometimes requires trained eyes to spot. In the afternoon, you will return to the lodge for lunch and rest.
We’ll go canoeing on the Rufiji River after lunch and see wildlife; the tour will be led by an armed ranger. On this excursion, you can expect to see hippos, crocodiles, frogs, and other wildlife. The park is teeming with birds, including bee-eaters along the river walls, pelicans, ibises, and many others. Enjoy a spectacular sunset by the Rufiji River before returning to your resort for a delectable meal and an overnight stay.
Nyerere National Park to Mikumi National Park
After a delicious breakfast at your lodge, your guide will pick you up for an early departure to Mikumi National Park, passing through villages and local farms until you reach Morogoro town. You will stop in Morogoro town for lunch and some relaxation before continuing to Mikumi for a game drive. Mikumi National Park is one of the parks in southern Tanzania that borders Nyerere National Park, allowing animals to freely roam between the two.
Expect to see elephants, buffalo, giraffes, wildebeest, lions, hyenas, jackals, and various antelopes. This park also has a diverse bird population, including both aquatic and forest birds. Following the activities of the day, your guide will drive you back to your lodge for a delicious dinner and an overnight stay.
Mikumi National Park
On this day, you will depart early for a full-day game drive in Mikumi National Park. Observe many animals on the road in the morning, including elephants, buffalo, giraffes, and possibly lions, as they try to avoid the morning mist. Other nocturnal animals are returning from a long night of hunting. Following your morning game drive, you will return to the lodge for a delicious breakfast and some rest before continuing your morning game drive.
After a few hours, your guide will pick you up and you will continue your game drive until mid-afternoon when you will stop for lunch and some rest before continuing your afternoon game drive until sunset. Later that evening, your guide will return you to your lodge for a delicious meal and an overnight stay.
Mikumi to Ruaha National Park
It’s a beautiful morning today! Following a hearty breakfast, your guide will collect you from the lodge and drive you to Ruaha National Park. When you arrive at Ruaha National Park, your guide will lead you to one of the designated picnic areas for a picnic lunch and some relaxation.
Ruaha National Park is a pristine and little-explored national park. Ruaha National Park, unlike Northern Tanzania Park, offers a one-of-a-kind safari experience due to its beautiful terrain and abundance of species. It is an elephant park with large herds. After several hours, you will arrive at the cottage and be served a delicious dinner before spending the night.
Ruaha National Park
Following a hearty breakfast at your lodge, your guide will pick you up for an early morning game drive to see nocturnal predators returning from a night of hunting or lionesses preparing for a morning hunt, as well as other animals emerging from their hiding places, to begin a new day in the wild Serengeti. There may be large herds of African elephants, a large pride of lions, and rare wild dogs. Among the other animals are giraffes, buffalo, wildebeest, jackals, hyenas, leopards, and a variety of antelopes.
In the afternoon, you’ll stop for a picnic lunch at one of the park’s authorized locations while admiring the breathtaking views. After lunch, you will continue your afternoon bird-watching game drive. Ruaha is incredible. Secretary birds, ostriches, herons, ducks, and other woodland species can be found in this park. The park’s primary water sources are the Ruaha River and its tributaries. After a thrilling day, your guide will drive you to the lodge for a sumptuous dinner and overnight stay.
Ruaha to Zanzibar
What a beautiful day! After a delicious breakfast, your guide will pick you up and transport you to the airstrip, where you will board your flight to Zanzibar Island. When you arrive in Zanzibar, one of our guides will meet you and drive you to a lodge. Rest and enjoy the wonderful breeze of the islands before setting out on your excursions the following day.
Zanzibar Beach
What a wonderful sensation it is to be awakened by the sound of the morning wind! Following a delicious breakfast at your lodge, your guide will pick you up and drive you to one of Zanzibar’s beaches for the day. If you want, you can participate in a water sport such as snorkeling, fishing with locals, diving, or other water sports.
Stone Town and Spice Tour
Usually, the best is saved for last! After a delicious breakfast in your lodge, your guide will pick you up and drive you to Stone Town. You’ll take our famous spice tour along the way, which takes you to local farms and plantations where you can explore, touch, and even taste the majority of the spices grown in this area. Our knowledgeable guide will tell you everything you need to know about how they grow and how they’re used in cooking, cosmetics, and medicine.
Later, you will sample some of the season’s tropical fruits before we invite you to lunch in one of the homes, where you will be able to sample some of Zanzibar’s spice-cooked cuisine. You will be taken to a historical stone town for cultural exploration in the afternoon. Following the activities of the day, your guide will drive you to your Stone Town lodge for a hearty dinner and overnight stay.
