Dar Es Salaam – Mikumi National Park
Our driver guide will pick you up from your Dar es Salaam hotel and take you to Mikumi National Park. It is the closest park to Dar es Salaam and is surrounded by the Uluguru Mountains, Rubeho Mountains, Udzungwa Mountains, and Rift Valley escarpment to the southwest. The fertile Mkata river floodplain, located in the heart of Mikumi, attracts wildlife from the surrounding hills due to its lush pastures. In the afternoon, you will be driven to a lodge for a delicious lunch and some rest before heading to Mikumi National Park for an afternoon game drive. Buffaloes, giraffes, elephants, lions, and a variety of bird species may be seen here. Later, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay
Mikumi – Ruaha National Park
After a two-hour game drive at Mikumi, return to the lodge for a late breakfast before continuing on to Ruaha National Park. It’s about a 5-hour drive. You will most likely arrive in time for lunch and eat at one of the designated picnic areas before continuing your afternoon game drive. It is at the heart of a 12,950-square-kilometer ecosystem that is home to the country’s largest elephant population. After the activities of the day, your guide will drive you back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Ruaha National Park
Following a delicious breakfast in your lodge, we will explore Ruaha National Park, which has its own mood – a rugged, remote, almost spiritual quality embodied by the bulbous silhouettes of ancient baobabs that haunt its semi-arid plains and rocky slopes.
This vast and magnificent plateau is also home to kudus, gazelles, ostriches, cheetahs, and roan and sable antelopes, while the banks of the great Ruaha River to the east provide an ideal habitat for crocodiles, hippos, and a diverse array of birdlife. In the afternoon, we’ll stop for lunch and a rest before continuing on with our afternoon game drive in search of animals we didn’t see in the morning. Following a full day of game viewing, your guide will transport you back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Ruaha – Udzungwa National Park
After breakfast, go on a half-day excursion. You can choose to go on a guided walking safari until the afternoon when you’ll return to the lodge for a hot lunch.
After lunch, proceed to Udzungwa National Park. The wild, lushly forested slopes of the Udzungwa Mountains, which tower steeply over the Kilombero Plains, are protected as part of the Udzungwa Mountains National Park. Another feature of Udzungwa is that it is one of the few places in Africa that has continuous rainforests over such a long distance. After the day’s activities, your guide will drive you to a lodge near Udzungwa Mountain for a delicious dinner and overnight stay.
Udzungwa National Park
Your guide will pick you up after breakfast and take you on a walk through Udzungwa National Park. Udzungwa has no roads; instead, it has about eight major and several minor hiking trails that wind through various sections of the park.
Udzungwa is not a typical game-viewing destination; rather, it is famous for the Sanje Waterfalls, which drop 550 feet through a misty spray into the forested valley below. The main draw is the biological diversity of the plants, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, birds, butterflies, and insects, some of which are found nowhere else in the world. After a long day of hiking, your guide will accompany you back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Udzungwa – Dar Es Salaam
After breakfast in your lodge, you will be picked up by your guide and driven to Dar es Salaam, a 6-hour drive away, where you will be dropped off at the airport for your flight back home or the hotel of your stay.
